  • Cardinal Greenway

Cardinal Greenways develop and operate corridors and trails to connect people and their communities!  We are proudly supporting both general operating expenses but also the purchase of a brush chipper which will help staff and volunteers keep the Greenway safe and clear for users.

  • Cope Environmental Center

Our family has supported school programs where students of all ages can become engaged in the environment through observation and experimentation. Because of Cope’s proven successful programming, we joined the Quigg Family Foundation to make a joint multi-year gift in support of a multi-purpose facility and classroom space to continue their wonderful environmental education. This Sustainable Environmental Center is certified under the Living Building Challenge. Currently, only 29 buildings in the world hold this certification.

  • Hayes Arboretum

Hayes Arboretum serves as natural treasure in the city of Richmond.  Nature programs, events, and miles of trails engage the community in healthy living and environmental education.  Funding has been provided to support the position of naturalist to enhance the educational experience at Hayes.  We also funded the construction of the East Side Tunnel under Elks Road to provide safe and long-term access to 175 acres of their land that had previously been inaccessible to the community. Additional hiking and running trails as well as mountain bike trails are now available for public use.

  • Indiana University East

IU East offers a special tutoring program for students in which IU East students serve as math tutors for middle and high school students both during and after school.  This year’s funding will help to expand the program providing math and reading to grades K-5.  Additionally, funding will help them purchase leveled books and math manipulatives.

  • Joseph Moore Museum

Established in 1887 on the campus of Earlham College, Joseph Moore Museum is the only regional institution offering regular, free science programming. Our funding supports quality science learning experiences, particularly those that promote connections with the natural world, and training for Earlham College students to develop and lead outreach programs through coursework and regular practice and feedback.

  • Morrisson-Reeves Library (Friends group)

Morrisson-Reeves Library is a pillar of the community and offers programming for adults and children alike. This year, our family was proud to support technology upgrades for the Children’s Department as they continue to engage children in learning through reading!

  • Richmond Art Museum

SKFF is proud to support Richmond Art Museum, an organization which provides art education and access to the region.  This year, we supported the Programming Assistant’s position which has made it possible to expand programs to a wider audience.  In the past, we supported the capital campaign of RAM to renovate the galleries and build an endowment. RAM is the only independent art museum to be housed in a public school in the country.

  • Richmond Parks and Recreation

The Just Us Kids Outdoors (JUKO) program has been a long staple in the community, providing summer services for well over 40 years to the youth of Richmond.  Our support assisted in covering costs for this free six-week long summer camp.

  • Richmond Symphony Orchestra

A new position was funded to support the educational programming of the Richmond Symphony Orchestra. Providing free opportunities to over 3500 youth annually, the RSO offers three children’s concerts, two youth competitions, and free admission to subscription concerts for children under the age of 18. This year, SKFF is funding community concerts and “Meet the Music Makers” where students will be introduced to 16 different instruments by musicians of RSO.

  • Wayne County Historical Museum

With the support of the foundation, the Wayne County Historical Museum has been able to make the museum more interactive for all ages and engage areas schools in new ways. Adventure Trunks have been created to assist with hands-on activities around the museum and a Literacy Night at the Museum has been established with much participation from local schools.
